Storm Amy: Amber Weather Warnings & Freight Impact

Storm Amy

The Met Office has issued amber weather warnings as Storm Amy brings very strong winds and heavy rain to parts of the UK. The storm is expected to develop in the Atlantic before moving across:

  • Scotland

  • Northern Ireland

  • Northwest England

  • Northwest Wales

This unsettled weather is forecast from Friday afternoon into Saturday, and disruption to transport networks is possible.

What this means for cargo movements

Severe weather can impact both road and sea freight services, with potential delays to vessel schedules, port operations, and trucking routes in the affected regions. At Beckchoice, we’re actively monitoring updates from the Met Office, ports, and our haulier partners to minimise disruption wherever possible.

If your shipment is likely to be affected, our team will contact you directly to discuss options and keep you informed every step of the way. Stay safe this weekend, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to your usual Beckchoice contact if you have any concerns. Get in touch with us if you need support with your cargo movements.
