Canada Customs Outage – Urgent Notice

Canada Flag

*UPDATE 06/10/2025: We are pleased to inform you that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has resolved the recent system outage and is now operating at full capacity.*

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is currently experiencing significant technical issues which are affecting customs processing across the country.

As a result, many shipments – particularly those arriving by air freight – have faced delays in clearance this week. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed timeline for when normal service will resume.

What this means for your cargo

  • Shipments into Canada may face unexpected clearance delays.

  • Storage and demurrage fees are still being charged by carriers and terminals, even though the disruption is outside of shippers’ control.

  • The situation is fluid and may impact both import and export schedules in the days ahead.

Our recommendation

Until CBSA confirms that services are restored, we strongly advise delaying any air freight shipments intended to arrive into Canada. This will help avoid unnecessary costs and complications.
